When the Pekin Power Plant in central Illinois committed to a $1 million asbestos removal project in 2008, it was clear that special equipment was going to be needed to handle the hazardous debris. Tarps Manufacturing Inc., Meredosia, Ill. was called in to help provide the solution. Durability and complete containment were considered top priority, so the disposal team decided on 10 new forty-yard dumpsters with roll tarps to cover the dumpsters front and back, with flaps that would be strapped down for transport. Tarps Manufacturing chose Seaman 22-ounce black vinyl and Churco truck hardware. Low-rise bows were installed to reduce wind drag, and extended front and back flaps were sewn in, secured with rubber tie-downs.
