The Eureka! RDS was developed for the U.S. Armed Forces as a rapidly deployable tactical use shelter that maximizes modularity, ease of use, operational effectiveness, durability and versatility—all in a compact and lightweight package. With its interchangeable outer layer, units can change the skin, rather than the entire tent system, from camouflage green to desert tan. The advanced structural design of the roof trusses supports significant point loads, so objects that used to take up valuable floor space may now be suspended from the roof. Since no structural support is needed during transportation, the speed of operational readiness is enhanced. The self-contained frame system withstands the impact of weighted items stored on top of it when it’s packed, which reduces the need for embarkation equipment and storage containers.
