The certification is an International Quality Standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a worldwide federation of national standards bodies representing over 120 countries.

The ISO 9001:2008 standard provides a true and tested systematic framework for managing a company’s manufacturing processes. It identifies the steps that result in consistent performance and operational efficiency. The most important goal of ISO certification is continuous improvement through the use of internal and external audits and process documentation.
