Auburn certifies ‘Made in the USA’

Industry News | March 1, 2014 | By:

Auburn Mfg. Inc. (AMI), Mechanic Falls, Maine, takes its “Made in the USA” commitment seriously, now issuing its own Company of Origin certificate with each price quotation it provides. The AMI certificate attests that the products are made in the USA, from yarn to finished product, at the company’s manufacturing facility in Maine. In addition, the certificate identifies textiles that comply with the Berry Amendment. The U.S. Government, a major purchaser of textiles, and private industries increasingly are requesting proof that textile products are made in America. “Only a product that is fully produced in the United States can be stamped with the label ‘Made in the USA’ or use an American flag on the label,” says Kathie Leonard, AMI president and CEO.
