Polyfab shade sails get ‘safe sun’ seal

Industry News | March 1, 2014 | By:

Melanoma International Foundation (MIF) promotes prevention, early detection and innovative treatment for melanoma, a form of skin cancer that metastasizes rapidly and is often deadly. Polyfab USA, Manhattan Beach, Calif., has been awarded the MIF Seal of Approval for its shade sails and structures and commitment to safe sun behavior. “Our business started in Australia as a way of protecting people against the ravages of the sun and the resulting high incidence of melanoma,” says Steve Morenberg, Polyfab USA national sales and marketing manager. “As we have expanded our reach into the Middle East and the USA, our job hasn’t changed.” A committee determines which products receive the Seal of Approval by evaluating company-supplied and independent testing, product quality, product reinforcement of sun-safe behavior and company website and promotional materials.
