NWBC public meeting: Innovative strategies for women to raise capital

June 25 webinar to feature Tina Tchen, chief of staff to Michelle Obama

The National Women’s Business Council (NWBC) will hold its quarterly virtual public meeting June 25 to communicate its efforts in advancing the women’s entrepreneurship agenda. The focus is women entrepreneurs’ access to capital, one of four main pillars of NWBC’s portfolio.

Special guest Tina Tchen, assistant to President Barack Obama, chief of staff to first lady Michelle Obama, and executive director of the White House Council on Women and Girls, will share highlights from the White House Summit on Working Families and recap the president’s plans for expanding economic opportunities to women and working families.

Other speakers include Carla Harris, NWBC chair and vice chair of global wealth management at Morgan Stanley; Kathryn Petralia, cofounder and COO of Kabbage; Loretta McCarthy, managing partner for Golden Seeds’ angel network; and Jane Applegate, director of strategic partnerships at Plum Alley.

The webinar is an open resource for members of the press, policy makers, stakeholders, women leaders, established entrepreneurs, aspiring women entrepreneurs and the general public. RSVP required.
