Industry News, News | July 6, 2015 | By:

The ARC Centre of Excellence (ACES), an organization funded through the Australian Research Council to study the science of nanomaterials, will offer short courses on biofabrication July 20 and 22 at the Australian Institute for Innovative Materials (AIIM) on the University of Wollongong’s Innovation Campus.

Engineers, scientists and industry representatives will offer sessions on the processes, materials and applications for 3-D printing. The course on July 20 will center on the process, including machinery and delivery mechanisms, CAD for 3-D printing and emerging techniques such as electroprinting, dip pen and high res IJP, with a lab demonstration on commercially available hardware.

The second session on July 22 will focus on materials for 3-D printing, including biopolymers, printing gels and metal powders, and printing structures with drugs, followed by a lab demonstration on custom biosystems.
