Performance textile manufacturer Concept III Textiles International, Red Bank, N.J., has partnered with Coolcore, the Portsmouth, N.H.-based developer of a patented chemical-free fabric cooling technology.
Coolcore’s technology uses a unique combination of fibers and cross-sections for three specific functions: wicking, moisture transportation and controlling the rate at which moisture evaporates from the garment for the cooling effect. These components help to reduce the fabric’s surface temperature up to 30 percent lower than skin temperature. Additionally, since the technology is chemical-free, the performance benefits never wash out.
Coolcore’s complete line of commercialized cooling fabrics was presented at Concept III’s booth at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market held in Salt Lake City, Utah, Aug. 5–8.
