Lawrence Fabric & Metal Structures celebrates 75 years

Lawrence Canvas Products 1941.JPGLawrence Fabric & Metal Structures, a manufacturer of custom commercial fabric and metal awnings and canopies, fabrication of exhibit components, experiential displays and industrial architectural elements, based in St. Louis, Mo., celebrates its 75th anniversary this week.

On May 16, 1941, Lawrence Canvas Products Company opened to manufacture and sell tarpaulins, truck and trailer covers. In 1984, the company grew to a full service company, manufacturing and installing awnings and tents. In 1996, the company name changed to Lawrence Fabric Structures to better describe the range of fabric products that anchored its core business.

The company continued to grow and added metal products as an essential part of its business. In January 2010, the company name changed to Lawrence Fabric & Metal Structures.

In 2012, Lawrence earned ISO 9001 certification from Alliance International Registrar LLC, for successfully implementing a business management system. In 2015, the company received recertification of ISO 9001, which will continue through 2018.

Today, Lawrence is owned by its employees, and a newly implemented employee stock ownership plan hopes to promote the company’s success and customer satisfaction.

We look forward to continuing to serve our valued customers for many years to come.”
