Sunmaster constructed this awning/canopy to showcase the company’s ability to fabricate complicated and eye-catching canvas building façade enhancements. The project marries an elongated bullnose-style awning with an arched, flat-front entrance projection to a patio canopy with a grid-beamed building support and front support posts. The entry arch includes multi-metal highlighted raised signage. The front awning and projection are finished out with an underliner to conceal the frame and lighting behind the sun and company name and additional security lights over the windows. Fabric used is Vanguard (2912) by Herculite Products Inc., from Tri Vantage LLC.

Two separate pieces of aluminum sheet were welded into one solid arched surface to fabricate the flat-faced backdrop, then the sun/rays were water-jet cut from the plate on a slightly smaller scale. The scaled-up sun/rays were stand-off mounted in front of the plate cutouts, with all signage surfaces powdercoated to the company colors of navy and gold. The patio canopy portion of the façade had no structure to mount to, since it was a corrugated metal building; Sunmaster fabricated a large wall grid with horizontal and vertical members placed to anchor at the heights where the ‘Z’ beam was located, distributing the weight of the canopy throughout the mounting surface.
