Shrink wrap protects against corrosion
Specialty Fabrics Review | January 2010
Problem: Corrosion of metal parts and products during transportation and storage causes high-cost rework for the customer.
Solution: Transhield is a shrink wrap film laminated to a nonwoven liner. Within the adhesive layer, transhield has a VCI additive, which releases on the inside of the covered part, preventing corrosion. Although VCI is not new to the market, this delivery method has been proven to provide premium protection with its highly concentrated and directional emissions. The material is also gaining wide acceptance within the U.S. military for corrosion solutions.
