How do I find out which SIC codes describe my business?

SIC stands for Standard Classification System, used by the U.S. government to organize businesses into basic categories. Although it is being replaced by NAICS codes, (North American Industry Classification System), SIC codes are still being used. The proper code depends on your business, but two we’ve seen used a lot are 2394, Canvas and Related Products, and 2399, Fabricated Textile Products, Not Elsewhere Classified. You can find a complete listing of SIC codes through the Occupational Safety & Health Administration; NAICS codes are available from the U.S. Census Bureau.
