ASTM hosts virtual meeting on sustainability
Specialty Fabrics Review | February 2010
Sustainability in the textile industry brought together an international audience for a November 2009 virtual meeting hosted by ASTM Intl. Nearly 30 professionals from India, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Europe and the United States participated, representing textile firms, testing agencies, academia and ASTM Intl. The meeting was sparked by concerns about sustainable textile manufacturing, what it means and how to determine it.
The virtual session provided information about ASTM’s work in sustainability standardization, how one industry is using the E60 forum to meet its needs, how one manufacturer has addressed sustainability challenges, and other issues related to sustainability in textiles.
ASTM Intl. welcomes participation in the development of standards. For more information, visit www.astm.org.
