Specialty Fabrics Review | May 2009
By Sigrid Tornquist
Janice Christiansen will be the first woman to chair the Illinois Manufacturing Association, starting in January 2010. She’s currently serving as vice chair of the association, which was formed in 1893 and is the oldest organization of its kind in the United States. Following in the footsteps of previous chairmen, such as John Deere, Christiansen plans to use her skills and dedication to face head-on the state’s manufacturing challenges. “Manufacturing is so important. Small business is so important,” she says. “It’s my passion.”
