The Hohenstein Institute has now established offices in 20 countries with the most recent addition of the new office in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. At Hohenstein’s global conference held in Bönnigheim, Germany, in March, Dr. Stefan Mecheels, director of the Hohenstein Institute, emphasized the organization’s commitment to worldwide representation. “Hohenstein will ensure that our clients will have access to our testing and certification services in all regions that are important to their textile and apparel businesses.”

The Hohenstein Institute is a founding member of the International Oeko-Tex Association and a leading provider of Standard 100 certification to ensure that textiles are free from substances that might be harmful to human health. (The certification also addresses U.S. CPSIA requirements for children’s products and European REACH requirements.)
