An advanced version of Teijin Fibers’ pollen-shedding polyester material, Pollenbarrier AS™, is made from Bewell™ polyester fibers, highly resistant to static electricity. Conventional polyester is hydrophobic and easily picks up an electrostatic charge; Bewell is made of conjugate fibers with an antistatic polymer core sheathed in regular polyester polymer, and is also treated with antistatic agents on a nanometer scale, so the effects do not wash out. Soft texture and water-shedding quality make Pollenbarrier AS suitable for a wide variety of outerwear and outdoor products.
