Coverall offers alternative to heavy turnout gear
Specialty Fabrics Review | July 2009
Problem: Firefighter turnout gear is heavy, uncomfortable and may not provide enough protection from punctures or tears.
Solution: Ashburn Hill Corp. has just released TECGEN XTREME™, designed for firefighters to wear as an alternative to heavy turnout gear when they are on non-structural fire or emergency calls. The single-layer coverall is not only cool and comfortable, but protects against thermal and physical hazards, including cuts or punctures that could compromise the effectiveness of the garment. Testing has shown that XTREME’s tear strength exceeds the minimum requirement by more than 600 percent.

Best product I've ever tested!
If you're a firefighter, you must get a Tecgen Xtreme garment. This is the most comfortable and protective garment that I've ever worn. Great for technical rescue, wildland fires, and basically for anything but structural. This will be standard issue at all departments once the word gets out. Go to their website www.tecgenfr.com to find out where you can get them locally.
