What is your industry prediction?

The awning industry is going to grow because of the increasing awareness of the intensity of the sun and of skin cancers. Awnings will be seen more as a need than a want.

What is your business philosophy?

I treat every project and installation as if it were going to my own home.

What is your advice for others?

This industry is difficult to manage from a remote location—it requires hands-on ownership to work well.

What is your key turning point?

When we purchased the building we’re now in. In 2005, we were able to put both portions of the business (awnings and tent rental) under one roof.
