MineMesh™, a polyester yarn mesh grid manufactured by Glen Raven Technical Fabrics LLC, Burlington, N.C., has been accepted by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Mine Safety and Health Administration as a flame-resistant reinforcement fabric over mine rib surfaces to prevent hazards from falling rock. The product is lightweight (nearly 28 pounds less than a comparable roll of other synthetic grid material), flexible and easy for installers to use. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health also confirmed that MineMesh is stronger than the extruded grid currently on the market. Glen Raven does business in the mining industry as RJ Stern Co., Wilkinson, W.V.; for more information, click here.
