3D exhibit space acts as environmental enclosure

The surround of this 20-foot-by-40-foot exhibit space for 3D at the 2008 Exhibitor Show in Las Vegas, Nev., was designed to act as an environmental enclosure and a canvas for lighting and projection, adding to the attendee experience. Designed and fabricated by Fabric Images Inc., the exhibit showcased the coordination of a variety of media and technologies with changing lighting and audio-visual effects, and LED imagery. The only constant image was a three-dimensional logo mounted on the exterior of the surround. The curved walls were designed to look as if they were floating, an effect achieved with a unique suspension system that enabled the fabric to be produced with full seaming on three sides, and only small slots where rods were placed, keeping a clean fabric appearance. The booth was conceived, designed and produced in less than two weeks, and earned an IFAI Outstanding Achievement Award for Fabric Images.
