Companies form strategic alliance for textile recycling
Specialty Fabrics Review | September 2009
Martex Fiber Southern Corp., Spartanburg, S.C., collects and recycles textile waste scraps. So does Bollag International Corp., Charlotte, N.C. The two pioneers in fabric recycling have formed a strategic alliance to expand their customer base and benefit from cost-cutting and environmental trends in fabric businesses. Both Martex and Bollag will offer recycling for cut-and-sew operations, knitters, weavers, spinners, nonwoven manufacturers and fiber producers in the U.S. and Central America. Together, the companies collect, process and recycle more than 175 million pounds of new textile waste a year.
