A marina in the fishing village of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle hosted Tianguis Turístico, Mexico’s largest annual tourism trade show under tents provided by Grupo Serna of Iztapalapa, Mexico. The trade show brings together travel businesses, national and international buyers, hotels and airlines. The goal: boosting Mexico’s travel industry.

“As there are many rental companies and we are the most expensive, we had to be able to prove why we charge more,” says CEO Miguel Serna. To win the job, Grupo Serna developed 3-D images to show the client what the installation would look like. The goal: boosting Mexico’s tent rental industry, with top-of-the-line products and safe installations.

Logistics and time, as well as safety, were major factors in the installation of five 60-by-70-foot SaddleSpan™ tents by Tentnology. The ground surface at the marina was not conducive to a safe installation, so the company hired a construction firm to prepare the surface for safe anchoring. Eight installers worked in two eight-hour shifts to set up the five structures. “We want to bring to our country the best looking models with safety first,” Serna says.
