We have a customer who wants us to replace an old retractable awning system with something similar. The problem is that their old system has scissor arms and projects 13 feet. Any idea of who might have this?

Scissor arms are a style more popular in Europe than in the U.S., but even so, seem to have been largely replaced. It’s an accordion-style arm and, in lamps and similar products, is sometimes referred to as a concertina arm. We found the projection you need at the German awning manufacturer Cassani. When we contacted them, however, we were told that they do not have a distributor in the United States; you’ll need to work with them directly.
