How do I get my fabric certified to Title 19?

Title 19 is the flammability document for the state of California, although it’s referenced by other parts of the U.S. as well. The certification process is managed through the California State Fire Marshal (CSFM). The process as it is now is for you to have your materials assessed by a CSFM-approved independent lab. You send those results, the required CSFM documentation and fee, and fabric samples to the CSFM, where they will do their own test. After the material passes, they will assign you a registered number that you can put on your flame certificates. Please be advised that Title 19 is currently being revised by the CSFM, so this process will probably change in the next year or two.
