Retractable screens create shade by the sea

Miami Awning Co. created a 70-foot by 18-foot retracting canopy with Eclissi fabric by Corradi USA for a terrace restaurant. The custom project transformed the space from one that had limited use into one that’s usable throughout the day and allows guests to enjoy the ocean view all year long. Made of aluminum with an exclusive alusteel finish, the framework looks like stainless steel and is especially resistant to weather and abrasion. The remote-controlled retracting system is in two parts, which makes it possible for clients to choose sun or shade, and the patented, integrated gutter system keeps rain from entering the space below. The canopy fulfilled the client’s desire for a contemporary, impressive and aesthetically pleasing solution.
