The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), U.S. Bureau of the Census (Census) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)have teamed up to offer Automated Export System (AES) compliance seminars around the U.S. Upcoming seminars include:

  • El Paso, Texas on December 13,
  • Tampa, Fla. and Washington, D.C. in January 2012; and
  • Savannah, Ga. in March 2012.

The seminars consist of Census’ overview of the Foreign Trade Regulations and AES, CBP’s overview of its outbound process especially in nearby ports of export, and BIS’s overview on reporting dual-use controlled exports in the AES and its seven best practices to reduce risk of unlawful diversion.
