No matter what type of customer they are working with, fabricators always face the fundamental question—What will my awning look like?—in the creation and sale of an awning. All too often fabricators have to rely on their customer’s ability to imagine and visualize the finished product based on visualizing fabric samples and photos of other similar installed awnings. With the ongoing evolution and application of technology in the awning marketplace, fabricators can dramatically enhance their abilities to design, present and sell awnings by using software programs created specifically for them.
As an example, the Canvas Link Awning Composer software program is designed to help fabricators design and present awnings, as well as signs and canopies. Designs created in the program are applied seamlessly to digital photographs of the customer’s building or home to provide detailed, accurate and fully visualized images of the end product. The Awning Composer program uses a three dimensional graphics system to create and manipulate objects in true 3D space. Fabricators simply start with a digital photo of the customer’s facility and import it into the program. Using the program’s built-in awning styles and templates, users create, size, rotate and move awnings in any direction to fit a house or building. This gives the fabricator the ability to show their customer what their awning will really look like.
