Snapshot: After party

News | | By:

Every year since 2004, Aztec Tents has provided custom tenting for HBO’s Primetime Emmy Awards after party. The event space is transformed into an elegant and intimate venue, under the creative design of Billy Butchkavitz. For the 2012 event, the centerpiece of the event was a massive 40-foot sculpture, inspired by South American architecture, hung from the roof of the main tent structure. “Every year the event designer takes a sabbatical to come up with a concept for the event,” says Alex Kouzmanoff.

“The tenting we build for it every year is based on his vision. He creates a focal point for the entire event and we design the tent structure around that.”

The project, under lead rental coordination by Town & Country Event Rentals, Pasadena, Calif., involves an extensive eight-day build out, requiring clearspan beams to be assembled, and then transported and dropped into place with a crane. Custom tenting solutions are color-matched every year to the theme of the event.
