Carpet backing material offers alternative to thermoset backing

HYPOD™ Polyolefin Dispersions, a recyclable carpet backing material, taking carpet sustainability to the next level in many applications, including modular carpet, broadloom, thermo-moldable products and artificial turf. Carpet manufacturers can apply a thermoplastic backing, rather than a thermoset backing, while still using conventional coating equipment. Thermoplastic backings also use less material, which can help conserve resources and energy, and result in a lighter weight carpeting—which would in turn require less cost and fuel for shipping, and allow for easier installation.
