Textile printing in demand

The global production of printed textiles is projected to reach 32 billion square meters by the year 2015, according to a report by Global Industry Analysts Inc. Increased acceptance of digital printing and technological improvements in areas including inks and consumables, printheads and printing machinery are expected to increase the demand for textile printing.

Asia Pacific represents the world’s largest and fastest growing region in textile printing production according to the report. Asia Pacific accounts for more than half of the world textile printing production, with China and India in the lead.

Apparel represents the largest fabric segment, while interior/furnishings represents the fastest growing and second largest fabric segment for textile printing.
