The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), in conjunction with the National Transportation Product Evaluation Program, developed an audit program in March 2012 for geotextiles to ensure uniform standards for geotextiles used in transportation projects. Thrace Linq, Summerville, S.C., supplier of woven and nonwoven performance fabrics, successfully complies with the new standards and received a certificate of compliance in December 2013. The audit consists of a desktop review of the company’s Quality Management System once every five years and a yearly on-site audit of each plant that produces geotextile products.
