New seismic fabric from Röfix

Products | April 1, 2013 | By:

Röfix, a subsidiary of German company Fixit Group, introduces a new seismic fabric designed to prevent and contain building damage during earthquakes. Sisma Calce is a lower-cost solution to retroactively protecting structures from the damage caused by earthquakes. The fabric consists of elastic polypropylene fibers laid in four directions, as well as glass fiber, and is adhered to a building with a specialized plaster. The fabric alone may be sufficient to keep walls from collapsing, but if the fibers rupture, the elasticity of the polypropylene fibers will hold the broken wall segments together to keep them from falling onto escape paths.
