Creative critters

Fabric Structures, Projects | September 1, 2013 | By:

[The Design Loft] , St. Louis, Mo., U.S.A.

This atrium sculpture for the Children’s Museum of South Dakota brings together indigenous creatures from the Dakota prairie lands into a playful floating garden. In creating these whimsical creatures, The Design Loft used color, images and form to engage the imagination of children, ages 3-11, who are the museum’s focus. The designs are sewn on Sunbrella®, Ferrari Soltis® 86 mesh and 200 denier nylon, and assembled on welded aluminum, powder-coated, hand-painted frames.
