“Tanked” on wheels: it’s a wrap

Each year, the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) aftermarket auto parts trade show brings together as many as 60,000 vendors and buyers to make connections and do business. Toyota wanted an attention-grabber for this year’s show, and partnered with Identity Brand (a Las Vegas graphics company), Roland DGA Corp. (an Irvine, Calif., leader in vehicle graphics) and the popular co-hosts of the Animal Planet series “Tanked” to create a colorful free-range aquarium in the back of a Toyota Highlander. The fully functional 800-gallon saltwater fish tank featured SpongeBob SquarePants’s Bikini Bottom as well as 115 individual fish, including starfish, squirrel fish, Fiji foxface, flame angel, clown fish and pilot fish.

Roland’s 64-inch VersaCAMM® inkjet printer/cutter created the eye-catching, vibrant vehicle wrap matching Toyota’s signature colors. Identity Brand waited until Wayde King and Brett Raymer, owners of Acrylic Tank Manufacturing and hosts of the TV series, installed the aquarium. A complex filtration system, including an overflow system, sterilizer, UV filter and temperature regulator, kept the fish happy as they were transported to SEMA in Las Vegas and the Los Angeles Auto Show, among other venues. “The result was an outstanding finished product and an extremely happy group
of clients,” says Phillip Dominguez, owner of Identity Brand. For details, visit the Roland website.
