The International Textile Manufacturers Federation released its annual International Textile Machinery Shipment Statistics. The 2018 survey was compiled in cooperation with more than 200 textile machinery manufacturers. Global shipments of new short-staple spindles and open-end rotors increased by 1.5 percent and 13 percent in 2018. The number of shipped draw-texturing spindles rose by 50 percent and deliveries of shuttle-less looms improved by 39 percent. Shipments of long-staple spindles, circular knitting machines and electronic flat knitting machines decreased by 27 percent, 4 percent and 20 percent.
