MSCHF, a New York-based art collective known for out-of-the-box shoe designs, has introduced an orthopedic shoe (or boot) that resembles an ankle cast, but is designed to make long walks more comfortable. The AC-1 is more of a fashion statement designed to look like a medical boot, but given that it mimics its inspiration, it actually is a functional type of footwear for long walks.
The boots’ flexible mold supports the feet and MSCHF’s patented WOWCOMFY! technology means even sneaker wearers can stay comfortable. Velcro® straps stabilize the wearer’s feet and ankles and are adjustable. The boots also have a dual-airbag ankle support system, and they are water-resistant for all-weather wear. Photo: MSCHF
