The Southern Textile Association (STA) announced that Evans Tindal, plant manager at Glen Raven in Anderson, S.C., was elected the organization’s new president.
The election occurred during the business portion of STA’s second general session on July 30 at the Embassy Resort and Suites Oceanfront Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Tindal succeeds Charles Poston, market manager of textiles for Klüber Lubrication in Jamestown, N.C., who was elected to chairman of the board of governors, to succeed Cameron Hamrick, president of Hamrick Mills.
Nathan Fisher, senior marketing director at Nava Technologies in Greensboro, N.C., was elected first vice president. Nathan Evans, vice president of sales at Seydel-Woolley, Inc. in Jefferson, Ga., was elected second vice president. Cory Bowman, quality assurance technical manager at Unifi Inc. in Greensboro, N.C., was named member-at-large, and Devin Steele was re-elected secretary/treasurer.
“I am humbled and honored to serve as president of the Southern Textile Association,” says Tindal. “STA has meant so much to me in the 25+ years that I have been involved. It has given me access to many of the giants in the industry and some of the greatest minds I have had the pleasure to know.”
“I also am thankful for the recent presidents, all of whom I have seen in action and all of whom I count among my friends—Cameron Hamrick, Rick Carpenter and Matt Shannon. I am thankful that I work for a company that appreciates the value of STA and allows me the time to serve. Glen Raven has contributed three presidents to the association just in the years that I have been involved: Lisa Arial Oehmig, Randy Blackston and Todd Wemyss. I am fortunate to get to work with these leaders every day. And I am excited to have Nathan Fisher, Nathan Evans and Cory Bowman serving with me this year,” says Tindal.
