In memoriam: Christine “Tina” Ann Miller

Christine “Tina” Ann Miller, 82, of Tuscarawas Township, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. She was born on December 10, 1940 in Massillon, Ohio to the late Louis and Emma (Urbas) Novak.

Miller and her husband, Al, formed Miller Weldmaster Corp., where she served as company treasurer and secretary for 25 years until retiring with her husband.

“Tina Miller, beloved wife of Al Miller, the founder of Miller Weldmaster, and steadfast matriarch of the company, has passed away. Tina left an indelible imprint not only on the business she helped nurture from its inception, but also on the countless customers and colleagues whose lives she touched. Alongside her husband, she was a pivotal figure in the early success and growth of Miller Weldmaster,” the company said.

“Traveling extensively with Al, Tina developed strong, enduring relationships with customers all over the world.  Tina Miller’s life was a testament to hard work, resilience, and the enduring power of human connection. She will be sorely missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.”

Tina was a 1958 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. She then went on to work for The Massillon Evening Independent for 28 years, serving as Society Editor for many of them. She was a lifetime member of the Massillon Women’s Club, and a member of Stanwood Community Church. Tina always enjoyed baking for her friends and family, as well as flower gardening, and spending time with her beloved dog Carter. She was always willing to help and give to others. Tina and her husband Al were involved with, and gave to, many charitable organizations over the years. She and Al spent a lot of time traveling internationally and taking on new adventures together, including earning her solo pilots license. Tina will be greatly missed by her many friends and family near and far.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Alvin Miller, brother-in-law, Gus (Donna) Miller, and sister-in-law, Grace (Tom) Ellis.

Tina is survived by her children, Alison McBride, Scott Miller, and Lynn Todaro; grandchildren, Meagan (Jim) Coffman, Chad (Erin) Todaro, Mason Miller, Logan Miller, Graham Miller, Delaney Miller, Sofia McBride, Emma McBride; great-grandchildren, Maddie Kirchner, Joe Kirchner, Owen Todaro, Nova Miller, and Knox Miller; sisters, Viki (Roger) Boltz, Carol Connelly, and Fran Novak; sister-in-law, Helen Madrigal; niece, Cheri Kress; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
