Villa Sarbonne, a Bel Air mega mansion, was designed with no detail left unattended. The 25,000-square-foot home boasts nine bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, a movie theater, hair salon, spa and even a car elevator that rises seamlessly from underground to deliver the auto of choice for the day.
Builder Ardie Tavangarian, of Arya Group Inc., known for developing lavish properties, created an equally impressive outdoor space. With spectacular views of Los Angeles, Calif., from downtown to the Pacific Ocean, the mansion features outdoor patios, gardens, an infinity pool and multiple lounge areas across 20,000 square feet.
The rooftop deck, which covers nearly the entire footprint of the house, is designed for lounging in style. There’s a full bar, a lush garden of olive trees, succulents and tall grasses, and a steel pavilion that provides 2,500 square feet of shade.
To create the shading, Tavangarian worked with Alpha Productions Inc. to design a canopy that features tensioned fabric combined with billowing panels for a practical yet romantic appeal. The company installed six motorized Skylight Suntamer™ awnings on the perimeter of the structure. Each awning is 20 feet wide by 16 feet. Infinity Canopy Inc. provided multiple canopies measuring 12 feet wide by 65 feet to cover the center area. The fabric choices were Serge Ferrari 92 and Sunbrella®.
Once the retractable shading was installed, colored panels were added to the original white panels to further connect the space to the surrounding hues of Los Angeles during the day and the stars and city lights at night. For more information, visit www.infinitycanopy.com.
