Research produces polyethylene membrane structure fabrics
May 1st, 2008
Nova-Shield II™ with ArmorKote® is the culmination of a two-year research project involving optimizing the properties of the membrane without sacrificing the outstanding strength-to-weight properties of the fabric. Four times the abrasion resistance of the competition, improved seam strength at room temperature and at elevated temperatures, improved chemical resistance and UV protection provide for long-lasting […]
Vinyl-coated polyester features high tear and tensile strengths
May 1st, 2008
SVP-14-515 is a 14-ounce vinyl-coated polyester with a tear strength of 100 pounds and tensile strength of 450 pounds. This fabric is appropriate for the sides of truck tarps, where it is advantageous to lower the weight of the tarp. SOURCE First Source Coated Fabrics
Photo-catalytic fabric retains color on canvas surfaces
May 1st, 2008
Dynastar photo-catalytic fabric, developed by Kanbo, and made with titanium dioxide, enables the canvas surface to keep its original color for years. The titanium layer acts as a photo-catalyst when exposed to UV rays, oxygen and water, renewing the surface. The fabric is hot air and RF weldable. SOURCE Kanbopras Corp.
Resin coat creates eco-friendly fabric
May 1st, 2008
Co-polyn is an eco-friendly next-generation industrial fabric coated with polyolefin-type resin. When exposed to flames, the fabric does not generate chlorine gas or toxic dioxin. It has high strength, is lightweight and can be welded by high-frequency welders. Co-polyn is available in standard finish and non-halogen flame-retardant finish. SOURCE Fujimori Kogyo Co. Ltd.

Fabric technology fights body odor
May 1st, 2008
VisaEnduranceShield™ odor-adsorption fabric technology fights odors, wicks moisture, dries quickly, and repels and releases stains to deliver superior comfort and enhanced performance. The patent-pending technology adsorbs and suppresses most body odor molecules in fabrics, then releases the odors during traditional home machine laundering with unscented detergents. The fabrics are more breathable, flexible and less bulky […]
Versatile laminate-coated fabric helps reflect heat
May 1st, 2008
Tiger cloth has a laminate coating that helps reflect heat, enabling it to stand up to intermittent temperatures that can vary up to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Suitable for use in foundries, automotive industries, welding and casting companies, the fabric is versatile and can be manufactured into jackets, coats, mitts, gloves, head protection and tarps. SOURCE […]
Blast-mitigation fabric expands in width
May 1st, 2008
Zetix™ blast-mitigation fabric responds to the application of a tensile load by expanding in width as opposed to traditional fabrics, which get narrower. Thousands of small pores on the surface of the fabric open up, allowing a blast front—from a bomb, industrial accident or other source—to pass through the material, slowing it down and reducing […]
