IFAI’s Student Design Challenges is the industry’s best showcase for tomorrow’s talent. The opportunity will give students a chance to network with industry professionals and build their resume and portfolios. Deadline is June 10, 2016.
This year’s competition features awards in four separate challenges, all using textiles as major components:
- Advanced Textiles: Design for aerospace, medical, military, safety/protective or other wearable and non-wearable textile technology applications.
- Awning and Canopy: Design a fixed or retractable awning, canopy or tension canopy at a site that can be invented or pre-existing (resort/hotel, park, university, airport, etc.).
- Fabric Graphics: Design a fabric graphics installation (2D or 3D) for a public or commercial space.
- Fabric Structures: Design a fabric structure that provides a shelter and architectural interest for a public or commercial site.
First place in each Student Design Challenges receives a $1,500 cash prize and a trip valued at $4,600 to IFAI Expo, October 2016 in Charlotte, N.C., for a team of three and faculty.
