Costco is partnering with the Hohenstein Group to integrate STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification into its smart screening program to ensure safe, traceable and sustainable products. The program is designed to protect consumer and environmental health by removing chemicals of concern from the products offered at Costco stores worldwide. Suppliers with STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX certification are eligible for exemption from the additional textile testing portion of the Costco smart screening protocol. By engaging this certification process, Costco is encouraging material manufacturers and suppliers to take control of chemical management as far back in the supply chain as possible.
