Egyptian cotton production and exports are at their highest for five years following a renewed period of emphasis on improving sustainability. The 2018–2019 season saw an increase of 45 percent in exports. The Cotton Egypt Association, the independent body responsible for the global brand, supports the implementation of “The Egyptian Cotton Project,” which includes training, education and awareness across the cotton supply chain.
