USIFI, NFI to merge

USIFI

The U.S. Industrial Fabrics Institute and the Narrow Fabrics Institute, both divisions of the Advanced Textiles Association, are merging into one larger group.

The new divisions will be known as the U.S. Industrial and Narrow Fabrics Institute (USINFI). NFI and USIFI have partnered in advocacy work and the Outlook Conference for more than 20 years, and the merging of the groups was a natural decision to unify all efforts into one group. This merger will take place this month.

With this, the advisory boards of each group will merge to ensure the best interests of United States advanced and narrow fabric manufacturers and users are at the forefront of the division’s mission.

USIFI and NFI’s advocacy efforts include access to government relations experts and lobbyists throughout the year. This team works to keep members informed of issues such as the National Defense Authorization Act, the Berry Amendment and pertinent trade policy. An annual advocacy day takes place in Washington, D.C., or virtually, creating a chance for members to meet with their representatives and other key policymakers.

The divisions will host a webinar at 1 p.m. EST, January 25, for a review of advocacy issues and a refresher on the importance of lobbying along with an opportunity to ask any questions. Click here to register.
