ATA negotiates lower rates for exhibitors at Advanced Textiles Expo

Expo News | August 14, 2024 | By:

The Advanced Textiles Association® (ATA) has renegotiated its General Services Contractor contract for the 2025–2027 Advanced Textiles Expo® shows. By selecting Freeman through a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process, we have secured rates that significantly lower the cost burden on our exhibitors.

RFP process

  • Jan. 8, 2024: RFP sent to five providers
  • Jan. 31, 2024: Deadline for provider proposals; received bids from four providers
  • February 2024: Internal review of all proposals
  • March 2024: Discussions with the top two providers
  • April 2024: Final negotiations
  • May 2024: Contracted with Freeman

Key achievements

  • Average rate reduction: The final contracted rates are on average 13.5% lower than other proposals received.
  • Historical rate comparison: The final contracted material and machinery handling rates are, on average, 13% lower than rates for the past 11 years.
  • Lower machinery rates than since before 2015
  • Locked In machinery and material rates: ATA negotiated machinery and material handling rates to remain the same year-over-year for the three years of the contract, providing a way for exhibitors to better budget and know that their costs of the equipment they bring are of the same weight.

This successful negotiation translates directly to cost savings for our exhibitors, enabling them to allocate resources more effectively and enhance their participation in the Advanced Textiles Expo.

The ATA’s diligent RFP process and strategic negotiations have culminated in a contract with Freeman that offers substantial cost savings for exhibitors over the next three years. This achievement underscores our commitment to supporting our exhibitors by creating a more financially sustainable environment for highlighting their innovations and products.

We are excited about the future of the Advanced Textiles Expo and the opportunities these savings will bring to our exhibitors and the industry at large.
