AATCC announces AJOR to become open access in 2025

The American Association of Textile Chemists & Colorists’ (AATCC) announced that beginning Jan. 1, 2025, the AATCC Journal of Research (AJOR) will be a freely accessible as an open access journal, providing information about various aspects of textile chemistry, coloration, testing and advanced materials to textile industry researchers and professionals worldwide.

AJOR is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing original and review papers. Prior to January 2025, access to AJOR for most textile professionals will be dependent on membership to AATCC, or a separate paid subscription. After Jan. 1, 2025, there will be no restrictions on who can access the journal, with all articles past and present being free to view.

According to AATCC, AJOR’s editor in chief Gang Sun, Ph.D., (University of California Davis); deputy editor Chi Wai Kan, Ph.D., (Hong Kong Polytechnic University) and publications chair Jiping Wang, Ph.D., (Shanghai University of Engineering Science) were pivotal in the decision to bring AJOR to open access.

All of the journal’s latest and previous articles can be read for free beginning on Jan. 1, 2025.
