Advanced Textiles Association member Kevin Crean, executive vice president (EVP) of sales for Bondcote Performance Textiles, formerly Graniteville Specialty Fabrics, passed away Fri., July 4, at the age of 76.

A graduate of Virginia Tech, Kevin began his career in 1973 as a sales trainee at the Graniteville Company’s corporate sales office in New York City, New York. He quickly learned the industrial fabric sales market and was promoted to sales manager in 1976.

Following the acquisition of Graniteville by Avondale Mills in 1998, Kevin was appointed vice president of sales. In 2006, when the company was renamed to Graniteville Specialty Fabrics, he was promoted to EVP of sales.

Over his 52-year career, Crean dedicated himself to the advancement of coated fabrics. He played a pivotal role in developing and launching numerous products that helped define the company’s market presence. Known for his deep industry knowledge, relentless work ethic, and unwavering commitment, Crean earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Crean will be deeply missed by his colleagues, the Graniteville community, and the broader textiles industry.
