Birdair Inc., a specialty contractor for custom tensile membrane structures, launched the 2025 Architectural Icons Tour. The road tour will visit more than 200 Birdair structures across the U.S. over the next 12–18 months. It celebrates the company’s upcoming 70th anniversary in 2026, as well as the more than 100 years of operation of its parent company, Taiyo Kogyo Corporation.
“Birdair’s Architectural Icons Tour underscores the company’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of design while building strong relationships with the architectural and construction communities,” says Michele Roth, business development manager and director of marketing at the company. “By visiting these iconic projects, we aim to highlight the creative and technical expertise that defines tensile architecture and inspire the next generation of architectural leaders.”
The tour began in July and featured Birdair projects, including the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.; the USTA Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, N.Y.; the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, N.Y.; and Domino Square Park in Brooklyn. At each stop, Birdair shared video interviews with industry leaders and project profiles with design and engineering insights.
