Florida-based custom patch manufacturer World Emblem is using artificial intelligence (AI) graphics rendering to show customers what their design will look like when embroidered, eliminating lag time for physical samples and production waste.
In the next stage of its AI development, World Emblem plans to use it to optimize the scheduling and production of completed patch designs for customers, a process currently done by hand.
In February, the company announced the opening of its new 72,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas. Fifty of the jobs were reshored from Asia to reduce tariff costs and improve supply chain efficiency. Proximity in the U.S. will also enable faster delivery times, with patches and emblems completed and shipped to customers in as little as 24 hours.
The company has plants in Georgia, Texas, California, Mexico and soon the Dominican Republic. It ships 250 million products a year for sports headwear, footwear, sports garments, uniforms and other apparel.
