
Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles (SMART) and Goodwill have announced a partnership with the 2026 Textile Recovery Summit, taking place Feb. 23–25 in San Diego, Calif.
For the first time, the Textile Recovery Summit will be co-located with the Plastics Recycling Conference and the Resource Recycling Conference.
The 2026 Textile Recovery Summit will address key challenges and opportunities in the circular textiles economy, with sessions focused on:
- Extended producer responsibility (EPR): How emerging state-level EPR programs are reshaping accountability, legislation and brand responsibility
- California Responsible Textile Recovery Act (SB 707): Anticipated industry impacts and compliance preparation
- Chemical recycling and advanced processing: Developments in recycling technologies, sortation, fiber identification and material recovery
- Global trade of secondhand textiles: Regulatory shifts, reuse markets and international trade flows
- Artificial intelligence and fiber sorting research: Academic and industry advances in automated sorting, imaging and machine learning
Event access and participation
Attendees will have access to the co-located conferences. Organizers expect more than 3,000 participants from sustainability, policy, retail, fashion, recycling and government sectors, along with more than 250 exhibitors across an 80,000-square-foot exhibit hall.
SMART and Goodwill are encouraging participation from brands, policymakers, recyclers, technology providers, municipalities and solution developers seeking to advance textile recovery and circular economy initiatives.
